A SIMPLE DESCRIPTION OF TWO-DIMENSIONAL NMR SPECTROSCOPY* AdBax

چکیده

The concept of two-dimensional (2D) Fourier transformation in NMR was first introduced by Jeener (1) in 1971. Since that time, several hundred different 2D pulse schemes have been proposed in the literature. The selection of experiments that will be described is based on the insight they provide into the basis and generality of 2D NMR, and also on the importance for solving the most common types of problems. The experiments that will be described here are (a) 2D homonuclear shift correlation through scalar coupling (COSY), (b) 2D cross relaxation spectroscopy based on the nuclear Overhauser effect (NOESY) and (c) heteronuclear chemical shift correlation of H and x 5 N chemical shifts

Sensitivity enhancement in 1D heteronuclear NMR spectroscopy via single-scan inverse experiments.

Measuring the nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of low-gamma heteronuclei such as 15N constitutes an important analytical tool for the characterization of molecular structure and dynamics. The reduced resonance frequencies and magnetic moments of these heteronuclei, however, make the sensitivity of this kind of spectroscopy inherently lower than that of comparable H NMR observations. A well-kn...

Complete Proton and Carbon Assignment of Triclosan via One- and Two- Dimensional Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Analysis

Students from an upper-division undergraduate spectroscopy class analyzed oneand two-dimensional 400-MHz NMR spectroscopic data from triclosan in CDCl3. Guided assignment of all proton and carbon signals was completed via 1D proton and carbon, distortionless enhancement by polarization transfer (DEPT) 135, H-H correlation spectroscopy (COSY), H-C heteronuclear single quantum coherence (HSQC), a...

Two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.

Great spectral simplification can be obtained by spreading the conventional one-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrum in two independent frequency dimensions. This so-called two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy removes spectral overlap, facilitates spectral assignment, and provides a wealth of additional information. For example, conformational information related to interproton dis...

Selaginellin A and B, two novel natural pigments isolated from Selaginella tamariscina.

Two new unusual natural pigments were first isolated from the whole herbs of Selaginella tamariscina. The structure of selaginellin A (1) was established as (R,S)-4-[(4'-hydroxy-3-((4-hydroxyphenyl)ethynyl)biphenyl-2-yl)(4-hydroxyphenyl)methylene]-2,5-cyclohexadien-1-one and selaginellin B (2) as (R,S)-4-[(4'-methoxy-4-(methyl)-3-((4-methoxyphenyl)ethynyl)biphenyl-2-yl)(4-methoxyphenyl)methylen...

Spin-Noise-Detected Two-Dimensional Fourier-Transform NMR Spectroscopy

We introduce two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy detected by recording and processing the noise originating from nuclei that have not been subjected to any radio frequency excitation. The method relies on cross-correlation of two noise blocks that bracket the evolution and mixing periods. While the sensitivity of the experiment is low in conventional NMR setups, spin-noise-detected NMR spectroscop...
